Challenge:

Divergent Property Solutions needed to create a building management service that stood out from the competition.

Directors Matt Donnellan and Paul Banoob knew many of the building management software packages they’d tried wouldn’t support the comprehensive service they were creating.

“When Paul and I started our own company, we were working as a direct competitor to our old company. We needed software that would give us a point of difference to our competition. Other software we’d tried did not give us that—or else it was an expensive add-on.

“We needed a solution that would show committees we are accountable with what we are doing so they can see us delivering on our word.”

Matt and Paul knew BuildingLink could support the fully accountable and personalised service they were building for residents. When it came to choosing the right software for the new business, BuildingLink was the obvious choice.

Solution:

“We like how BuildingLink works. It’s more user-friendly, it’s a one-stop shop.” – Matt Donnellan and Paul Banoob, Divergent Property Solutions Co-Founders

“BuildingLink has a resident’s portal—and that gives us a great point of difference. It gives residents a place where they can raise their own issues. They can get real-time updates and see that we’ve viewed and actioned their request.

“We can do bulk communication via text messaging, which is a plus when you’ve got an emergency or an outage, or just a simple reminder when you need people to be home.

“And we’re able to take payments by card online for lift bonds, key fobs, access swipes and garage remotes. It costs the residents just 31 cents for the transaction and when the move is done, we can hit refund and their money is back with them in a day,” says Matt.

“BuildingLink stopped us from drowning in administrative tasks. We don’t have to have as many staff. It’s a much more efficient tool. We can do things while we’re on the run on our phones so we don’t have to be in the office.

“Plus, we wanted the owners, our clients, to have ownership of the software and the information in it. So if they decide to move away from us, they can continue that software and that journey with another building management firm if they want,” adds Paul.
