BuildingLink International is excited to announce the launch of the BuildingLink Skill for Amazon Alexa, providing our residents with a new, fast and easy way to access information, in and around your residence.
What is the BuildingLink Skill, Amazon Echo & Alexa that we speak of?
Alexa is Amazon’s voice service, accessed through Amazon Echo. Using nothing but the sound of your voice, a person can ask Alexa a question, and receive an instant response. Alexa does a lot of cool stuff, like play music, search the web, make calls, shop online and more. It’s just like having your very own personal assistant.
The BuildingLink Skill, developed by our talented engineers, enables you to connect your voice-recognition software to your building and home. Once enabled through the skill store, the BuildingLink Skill connects you to a huge array of information relating to your residence – so long as you have BuildingLink at your building.
What can I ask Alexa?
Once enabled, you need to begin with the wake word ‘Alexa’ followed by your request ‘Ask BuildingLink XYZ’.
For example:
“Alexa, ask BuildingLink if I have any deliveries?” Alexa will read out all Open Incoming Deliveries for your home.
Whether you’re searching for events being hosted in your building, waiting on a delivery, or you’d like to hear your account balance – all you have to do is ask.
Need an introduction or overview of the skill? Once enabled, simply say ‘“Alexa, open BuildingLink.” This will wake Alexa, who will then welcome you, explain how the system works, and answer some of the questions you may wish to ask.
How do I access the BuildingLink Skill?
You are in luck, my friend. With the BuildingLink Skill freshly launched in Australia, once you purchase anAmazon Echo product, you can connect it to your BuildingLink residence, and Alexa will become your number one source for all local building information.
