Q & A with Louise Roetman: Chief Leader of Teams, Training Extraordinaire and Lover of Craft

Introducing: Louise Roetman

Tell us what a typical workday looks like:

Louise: In a typical workday, I oversee and work with the Support Team to ensure client expectations are always exceeded.  My day is split between working on the setup for new buildings that have come onboard with BuildingLink, answering enquiries, taking phone calls, delivering training both internally and externally, and getting involved with the leadership group on new initiatives!  I’m currently working on some complex building creations for longstanding clients, as well as being involved with the creation of a new certification process.

What three words would you use to describe your role?

Louise: Challenging, engaging, and interactive.

What kind of impact do you believe your role has on clients?

Louise: As a member of the Support Team, I am all too aware of the impact we have on the relationships with our clients – we are the frontline of the business!  I aim to make every interaction a positive one, and at the very least I aim to be empathetic with our clients in order to provide advice and solutions that will best suit their situation.

What is your biggest professional achievement to date?

Louise: I have been fortunate enough to have recently been promoted to Team Leader for the Support Team and feel really proud of what we have achieved so far.  The faith and support I have been shown by Management has allowed me to grow professionally and personally in the role.

What do you like most about your job?

Louise: Having previously taught in schools and university, I still get a kick out of training our clients and new staff – being a part of someone’s learning journey is extremely rewarding.  I also love our team – our office has a great vibe that we all thrive in!

And finally, what do you love to do outside of work?

Louise: I do a lot of craft!  I spend my spare time doing cross-stitch, quilting & embroidery.  I also love spending time with my husband, family and friends as much as possible.  I am currently also writing my PhD, so although this isn’t an activity that I love so much, it nonetheless takes up a lot of my time outside of work at the moment.
