Interview with BuildingLink’s: Yuta Suzuki, Marketing Manager & Web Administrator

: What is your background/what skills do you bring to your role?

I majored marketing in Keio university in Japan and developed it into the world of digital marketing as well. I also learned about web design, SEO, paid advertising, digital network, accounting (USCPA). Basically, my background is based on retail industry – Daimaru department store (Japan), GODIVA (chocolate company), etc. I experienced to learn about the importance of communication between company & customer and how to organise the team from the marketing perspective. I think this experience should be utilised to my current role as the marketing manager, too. Also, I like the latest technology and always try to implement the best tool, device and technology into our business development.

: What do you enjoy most about working with BuildingLink?

BuildingLink is the market leader in the industry and always try new challenges. It makes me excited. Thankfully, many clients has been using our software and service. I believe we can develop more benefits, efficiency and customer satisfaction by improving our solution and providing new value. We are still in the fog of the COVID-19 (already 2 years ago!), but I believe our solution should be more essential and useful tool for everyone relating to the community living as we are now living in the new world which requires us to update the way of communication..

: What are some of the challenges you’ve enjoyed taking on and overcoming?

My biggest challenge was moving the immigration from Japan to Australia with my wife. I was born in Tokyo and spent my time over 35 years in city environment and moved to nature surrounded country, Australia. I like my current lifestyle, but at the begging of the immigrtaion, it was hard to adapt the totally different environment of living, work and visa application as well. But, fortunately, I came across the beautiful and kind people to help and encourage me. Currently, it is still hard to travel to my home country, Japan, but I think we are still lucky to live in the world with technology which enables us to talk through video call.

: When you’re not at work, what do you like to do?

I like surfing the mellow waves with short board, long board and even without any board. We have many beautiful beaches around my residential area and enjoy driving along the coast QLD and NSW area. Also, I like photography and got new camera recently! Can’t wait the weekend to visit the natural environments with the map. However, I like most to talk with my friend and family. I hope we can travel and visit our friend and family freely as soon as possible and find the new lifestyle in this era.
