A Winning Partnership to Lead Community Living into a Brighter Future

One of BuildingLink’s greatest strengths is the communication tools for communities. We believe communication is the glue that bonds communities. Keeping people informed and in touch creates a stable and secure environment that people want to be a part of. Thanks to a partnership with Premium Living Media (PLM), our communication strengths have become even more robust.

PLM provides residential communities with the hardware and software needed to enhance their communication. Digital screens are supplied and supported with curated content that keeps people up to date, entertained and informed with topical updates on news, weather, sports and more. Building managers and developers are able to intersperse bulletins with building-specific information – upcoming events for residents, changes to building policies and delivery notices for apartments and more.

How PLM is making a difference to apartment living

Founded by real estate and media veterans, PLM is built on more than 50 years of experience in these markets. Starting with the intent to bring their vision of revolutionising residential building communications and Digital-Out-of-Home (DOOH) communications, the founders and team are working with BuildingLink and other partners in ways that enhance residents’ lives in apartment buildings.

Property owners are able to access large digital displays through PLM and install them at key points throughout the building at no cost. Once displays have been installed, PLM arranges for them to be connected to a small internal computer. This system runs a curated roll of infotainment clips that building and strata managers can add their own content to.

The content is managed by PLM and contains sports and news updates, the latest exchange rates, weather reports and some advertising from brands relevant to the communities. Building and strata managers can include building information to the curated content roll direct from their BuildingLink portal. Information such as apartments with parcels awaiting collection, community activities and maintenance alerts keep community members informed as well as entertained.

Better communications equal stronger communities

Building residents have helpful information displayed throughout their community – lobbies, lifts and car parks are likely locations – with no increase to body corporate fees. In fact, thanks to the advertising dollars paid by brands who wish to display their products to residents of these communities, a small income can be generated from the display screens.

Seasonal alerts such as advice for responding to wildfires or protecting properties through storm season can be displayed in key areas of a building. The repeated exposure to this information means that the right actions come to mind – if an emergency situation does arise – with minimal effort on the part of residents. Spaced repetition is a well-known memory technique used to combat the forgetting curve – the rate at which we lose new information.

Building and strata managers know that not everyone is comfortable regularly checking into their residents portal and sometimes emails and SMS notifications go astray – particularly when life gets busy! Digital displays are one way that they can be sure every resident in their community is getting exposure to key information for the building.

BuildingLink’s partnership with PLM ensures that each and every resident in the communities we are part of have access to the information they need, wherever they are and wherever they need it.
